How we live responsibility at KUMAVISION

Sustainability meets innovation

Our vision for a sustainable future

We see ourselves not only as a leading software company, but first and foremost as a community of very different people. Social responsibility is a fundamental principle of our KUMAfamily. We are aware that our actions today shape the future. For us, sustainability is therefore not a trend - it is our responsibility for the future. In the local context of our community as well as in the global context of our society.

Steering Committee Sustainability

The KUMAVISION AG Sustainability Steering Committee was set up to steer the company's strategic direction and development towards even greater sustainability. With a diverse composition of different, cross-hierarchical specialist departments, with a focus on the participants' skills, the aim is to ensure that different perspectives and specialist knowledge are incorporated into the decision-making processes. Our motivation: to integrate the different company areas more closely and to ensure the implementation of long-term projects. This approach makes a significant contribution to developing innovative solutions and ensuring sustainable success.

Our goals

Our plan is to gain a comprehensive overview of which sustainable practices have already been implemented and which new measures can be taken to achieve KUMAVISION AG's ecological, social and economic goals sustainably and efficiently. Through active exchange and cross-departmental work in these circles, a clear roadmap for the coming years should emerge that not only reflects current successes, but also outlines the vision and strategic direction for a more sustainable future.

Our fields of action

We are guided by the 17 global sustainability goals adopted by the UN in 2015. Within these “Sustainable Development Goals” (SDGs), we focus on the areas that are relevant to us and our actions.

As part of our Sustainability Steering Committee, we have formed a working group to analyze double materiality. Double materiality means that we have considered our positive and negative impacts in the area of sustainability on our internal and external impact.

  • In the area of DevOps, we optimize IT infrastructure and CloudServices by monitoring computing power and application time and adjusting it to actual needs. This avoids unnecessary energy and resource consumption due to oversized servers and services.

Concrete measures: Sustainability in practice at KUMAVISION

By reducing the screen brightness to around 70% and using a specially created profile for energy management in Windows 11 as well as zero-standby power strips, we aim to achieve energy savings of around 21%. These measures save around 7.200 kWh annually, promote sustainable practices in everyday work and reduce our ecological footprint without causing ergonomic disadvantages. At the same time, with this initiative we not only want to reduce energy costs, but also raise awareness of sustainable practices that can be implemented quickly and easily in both professional and private environments.

Let’s create a sustainable future together!

Sustainability is not a goal that we reach once - it is an ongoing process that depends on the cooperation and commitment of many people. We invite all employees, customers and partners to shape this path together with us. Do you have questions, suggestions or concrete ideas? We look forward to developing new approaches together.
