KUMAVISION at HMI: Experience ERP and IIoT live

The ERP industry software specialist KUMAVISION shows at the Hannover Messe how companies optimize their processes, strengthen their customer relationships and open up new business models. At the VDMA joint stand (Hall 17 / Stand C40), visitors can experience live in an interactive demo how machines, articles and ERP communicate with each other via the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) and what opportunities arise for production, customer service and logistics , KUMAVISION also presents the current version of the industry software for the manufacturing industry based on Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central. The ERP industry solution brings with it numerous best practice processes for mechanical and plant engineering, series, contract and project manufacturers as well as medical technology companies.

"So far, companies have focused on their own production when it comes to ERP and have largely optimized it. A change of perspective to your own customers and the machines in the field opens up a multitude of new possibilities. In particular, the combination of the Internet of Things with the ERP system holds enormous potential, ”explains Markus Kießling, Head of the Manufacturing Industry at KUMAVISION. Specific practical examples from the industry software specialist include new service offerings such as predictive maintenance, the rental of machines based on the pay-per-use principle, and the optimization and monitoring of logistics processes. In Hanover, trade fair visitors can go through these and other scenarios themselves and discuss their own requirements for an interactive model factory. “IIoT is difficult to grasp for many. We map the entire supply chain in our model factory and thus jointly identify starting points for digitization projects, ”adds Kießling.

ERP and IIoT on one platform

The ERP industry software from KUMAVISION is based on the technology platform Microsoft Dynamics 365, In addition to the ERP software, it also includes other business applications such as CRM for service, sales and marketing, business analytics (BI), workflow and automation tools, IIoT integration, artificial intelligence as well as mobile apps and office 365, The highlight of the globally unique offer: All applications work with the same database, there are no more data silos. This makes cross-application workflows just as easy as company-wide evaluations "We see ourselves as a holistic system solution partner who of course offers ERP industry software as well as topics such as IIoT, BI or AI to map the requirements of the industry from a single source," says Kießling. Azure IoT enables the manufacturer-independent integration and management of IoT devices and their bidirectional connection to the ERP solution. For example, telemetry data from machines can be transferred to the Business Intelligence solution Microsoft Power BI via the Internet of Things, analyzed there, processed and clearly visualized in dashboards. The Microsoft IIoT reference architecture makes it easy to get started without having to commit companies to specific manufacturers of IIoT components. Artificial intelligence is also part of the Microsoft platform: "Whether image recognition for quality assurance in production or for equally secure and quick identification of components in the technical field service, machine learning for evaluating telemetry data or text and voice recognition for the automated recording of orders or service requests - we provide our customers with a wide range of solutions, ”says Kießling.

Improved customer service

In addition to the Internet of Things, the topic of “customer service” is the focus of this year's trade fair appearance. KUMAVISION shows how companies can expand their customer service and thus strengthen customer loyalty. Mobile solutions for the technical field service (Field Service), for example, clearly provide all customer and order information on a tablet. The documentation of the service call including photos is just as easy as the quick ordering of spare parts with direct access to current stock levels and the electronic device file. Service calls can be easily acknowledged by the customer thanks to the digital signature on the tablet. Since the mobile solutions also work with the same database as the ERP software, all information is immediately available to the back office. Route and deployment planning linked to the ERP software ensures optimal and sustainable utilization of technicians and service vehicles. IIoT integration goes one step further: It lays the foundation for event-driven service models such as predictive maintenance and provides service technicians with all relevant information, for example on a mobile app.

Standard for medical technology

Whether DIN ISO 13485, Medical Device Regulation (MDR), Unique Device Identification (UDI) or EUDAMED: KUMAVISION ERP for medical technology already offers medical technology companies a comprehensive depiction of the regulatory requirements in the standard. Numerous industry-specific functions and workflows from the administration and traceability of serial and batch numbers to extensive quality management including supplier evaluation and test equipment management to granular rights and access concept, four-eyes principle for GxP-critical processes, complaint management and the complete documentation of changes (Audit Trail) form the optimal basis for a sustainable increase in efficiency and for successful validation.
