KUMAVISION is one of the "most valuable" employers in the Lake Constance region

The current employer ranking of the WirtschaftsWoche shows: The software specialist KUMAVISION with its headquarters in Markdorf am Bodensee is one of the "most valuable employers" in the region. In the Germany-wide survey, the inhabitants of the districts and independent cities voted on the value of local companies for the surrounding region. KUMAVISION secured a place among the Top20.

With the current employer ranking, the WirtschaftsWoche is taking an unusual route to throw new perspectives on well-known as well as new companies. Instead of questioning employees about their employers, the Cologne-based analysis institute ServiceValue commissioned WirtschaftsWoche 100 to randomly survey selected residents per county or 500 inhabitants per district-free city. These indicated on a scale from 1 (very good) to 5 (very poor) how relevant they are to the common good in the county or county borough. KUMAVISION achieved a top 20 placement in the Lake Constance region.

Regional strong

With this good placement, KUMAVISION joins global companies such as ZF and Vaude. "This speaks on the one hand for the awareness but also for the positive perception of our company in the region," reports Uta Röck, HR Manager at KUMAVISION. In contrast to other studies, the employer ranking of WirtschaftsWoche deliberately does not ask the inside view of companies - although this can happen if respondents are employees at the same time - but the outside view. Above all, this is characterized by personal experiences and focuses on what companies do in their own place of residence. The commitment to the region can manifest itself in many ways: family celebrations, charitable actions or through the personal commitment of employees.

Commitment on the spot

"We are pleased that our commitment to the region has been rated so well by the local population," says Röck. The company, which operates primarily in German-speaking countries, supports regional projects and is involved in the social sector, currently for example through the financial support of the Kinderhaus Liebenweiler. "For us, the region is part of the corporate culture," she adds. "Many of our employees are rooted here, they know the country and their people." Giving the region something to do with the company's success is not a matter of obligation for KUMAVISION. "The Lake Constance region offers a lot: a wonderful nature right on your doorstep, good transport connections and excellent employment figures, as well as a top ranking in the innovation ranking in the European Union," explains KUMAVISION board member Kay von Wilcken, "Being part of it is important to us."

Training at KUMAVISION

KUMAVISION contributes to promoting the Lake Constance site with its wide range of training opportunities and ensures that the region remains attractive to young people in particular. "Our company is showing strong growth, so we are constantly looking for IT-enthusiastic young people who are interested in training as IT specialists", summarizes Uta Röck. "After the successful graduation we offer interesting perspectives for the further career in the enterprise. In doing so, we support our young colleagues with a variety of offers to make it easier to start a career: from onboarding, through exchanges with other job starters, to personal mentors. And the fun is not too short for joint activities away from the office. "In addition to training as a computer specialist, the software specialist offers further exciting offers for school leavers and young professionals: A dual degree in business information technology, which is carried out in cooperation with the DHBW Ravensburg, as well as an innovative one Young Professional Program: With its combination of practical and theoretically oriented phases, the program is ideal for starting a career: What has been learned in the so-called classroom phase can be used and deepened directly in training-on-the-job. "Practical training is important to us: the participants in our Young Professional programs gain insight into various areas of the company and work on customer projects," summarizes Röck. At the same time, central trainings, events and team events take place at regular intervals.
