KUMAVISION Customer Forum 2016

Mobile solutions, the 4.0 industry and the progressive digitization of business processes will sustainably strengthen the competitiveness of SMEs. This is the conclusion of the 11. Customer forum of KUMAVISION, which took place in Wiesbaden at the beginning of June. 200 customers from the manufacturing, retail, service, medical and healthcare markets took advantage of the two-day event to learn about current trends and technologies in numerous lectures, workshops and sessions, and to interact with KUMAVISION consultants and industry peers. The focus was on ERP industry solutions based on Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2016 and Microsoft Dynamics CRM.

Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2016

Business solutions are the focus of Microsoft's strategic direction. The Group invests more than ever in the further development of Dynamics NAV. The current version of 2016, on which KUMAVISION's ERP industry solutions are based, brings numerous new functionalities, especially for mobile applications. A live demonstration showed how smartphones and tablets simplify mobile work and enable new business models. Microsoft provides apps for Windows, Apple and Android that bring a touchscreen-optimized user interface and seamlessly integrate telephony and camera into the industry software. Employees have access to up-to-date corporate data anytime, anywhere, and work workflow-driven. What new technologies the next version of Dynamics NAV brings, showed a live preview of the new version, which Microsoft is currently developing under the code name "Madeira".

Successful change

Perspective change in the session to switch over to the new versions of the KUMAVISION ERP solutions. Customers reported on their practical experience with the update. Their conclusion: The pre-set, included best-practice processes as well as the parametrizability, which allows the adaptation of the software without programming, facilitate the change to the current version of the KUMAVISION industry solutions considerably. Furthermore, implementation methodology and change management are crucial for a successful migration.

Industry 4.0

The hype topic industry 4.0 has meanwhile become a concrete field of action for SMEs - not only in the manufacturing industry. The chances and risks of the fourth industrial revolution were discussed on the basis of best practice examples. An innovation workshop formed the practical part of this thematic block. The event, led by Mario Leupold, Innovation Promotion and Network Management Advisor at the Innovation Center Hannover, gave a lasting insight into why lateral thinking is important and how companies can drive this process forward.

Efficiency thanks to digitization

The solutions presented at the customer forum for the digitization and automation of business processes met with great interest. The spectrum ranged from solutions for customer relationship management (CRM) and document management (DMS) via freely definable workflows to automated document entry and processing as well as digital document storage in financial accounting. The integrated sanctions check in the industry solutions controls directly in the ERP system whether embargoes exist and business contacts to companies or persons are even permitted. In doing so, companies receive legal certainty because the sanction lists are automatically updated by the manufacturer.


More and more companies intend to introduce electronic invoices (e-invoicing) or are urged by their customers and suppliers. With ZUGFeRD, a uniform format for electronic invoices is now available across all sectors. The direct integration into the KUMAVISION ERP industry solutions enables the fast, convenient and easy exchange of digital invoices.


Prior to 20 years, KUMAVISION was founded under the motto "We make business visions work". Milestones in the history of the company were reflected in founding director Markus Leuter's keynote address. A look back at the long-term partnership with Microsoft was given by Guido Günster, Partner Sales Manager at Microsoft Germany. Günster emphasized the prominent role of KUMAVISION in the dissemination and development of Dynamics NAV (Navision) in Germany and impressively illustrated the technological change over the last two decades. Which strategy the company pursues in the future, explained KUMAVISION CEO Kay von Wilcken: "The Trend Topics Mobile Solutions, Business Analytics, Cloud Computing and the Internet of Things are our focus.
